It is 1872, Grant is in the White House, Queen Victoria is on the throne, and conservatism rules the nation. Then along comes Victoria Woodhull, a swindler's daughter who comes to New York City by way of hustling and prostitution. And now she decides to run for President.

Based on a very true story, Woodhull shows the downfall of Victoria Woodhull's campaign, and the events that led her to imprisonment on election night. A revolutionary former prostitute, her story exemplifies the American Dream, illuminating the corruption of politics, and the hardships of womanhood in any century.
